Photography 101 with Rohit Vohra

Rohit isn't just a street photographer, he's spent over a decade building an ecosystem around the craft. He's the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of APF Magazine, a street photography platform he started in 2013 alongside Vineet Vohra (https://www.instagram.com/vineet_vohra?igsh=bTRnZnhyMXduN2Nz) , built around the idea that photography should be a space for emerging and established photographers alike to learn, get featured, and grow together (https://www.instagram.com/apfmagazine?igsh=NjRkMTRmNWowczk4) He's also a Leica Ambassador and sits on the judging panels of some of the most respected names in the field, including the International Photography Awards and the Moscow International Foto Awards. But ask anyone who's sat through one of his workshops, and they'll tell you the philosophy underneath all of it stays the same: photography isn't about the gear, it's about attention. That's exactly what he brought to Hour Space.
Hour Space was never meant to be just a place people work from. It was meant to be a place people come back to and Rohit's three day photography workshop is exactly the kind of story that reminds us why.
That's the whole idea behind H·Our: this space was built to hold more than desks and deadlines. It's meant to be a place where an hour spent here can turn into a skill, a connection, a story someone else picks up later. The workshop opened not with cameras, but with a conversation, Vineet & Rohit walking a small group through a presentation on how photographs actually work. Not settings, not gear, but the thinking underneath a good frame: why one image holds attention and another doesn't, why understanding a photograph matters more than knowing your camera.
From there, the workshop found its rhythm. Over the following days, participants stepped out of Hour Space and into the neighborhood. Then they came back, cameras full, ready for the harder part. Back in the space, Rohit & Vineet pushed the participants to defend their choices, why this frame, why this moment, why press the shutter here and not two seconds earlier. Hour Space became the second half of every photograph taken: the place where the shooting turned into understanding.
It's this kind of exchange that we love hosting at Hour Space. It's the H·Our way, a community that compounds, one skill and one story at a time.
